Our Katadyn Water Purification filter, the Drip System, includes filtration elements that are cleanable and will serve for a considerable length of time, but we think it is prudent to plan ahead for their replacement. You may want to order Katadyn replacement elements at the same time as you initial order for a Drip System, so you have them on hand when you need them.

Although the Katadyn Drip Water Purification System comes with 3 Ceradyn silver impregnated cleanable ceramic elements that can be cleaned repeatedly and will serve 1-6 people for up to 39,000 gallons of quality drinking water, we recommend including replacement filter elements in your planning, especially if your unit will be serving more than 6 people. Unopened and unused, the shelf life of the replacement ceramic element is just about forever.
